We are delighted to share that Dr. Mariia Seleznova has been awarded an Emmy Noether Junior Research Group by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) — one of Germany's most competitive funding lines for outstanding early-career researchers.
We are delighted to share that Dr. Mariia Seleznova has been awarded an Emmy Noether Junior Research Group by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) — one of Germany's most competitive funding lines for outstanding early-career researchers.
Mariia completed her PhD at MATH4AI in 2024 and has since been a postdoc with our group. This autumn, she will start her independent research group, "RMT4DL: Random Matrix Theory for Deep Learning", at Technische Universität Darmstadt.
Her research explores the mathematical foundations of large neural networks — in particular, how they behave as they scale, under what conditions they remain stable, and when their predictions can actually be trusted. These are questions with real implications for making AI more reliable.
We are incredibly proud to see this next chapter begin. Congratulations, Mariia!
